For Context, About a year and a half ago (April/May 2023) My Friend that i know in real life decided that it would be funny to reveal my genuine house address that me and my family live at, to a discord server with both people that i do and do not personally know (It's not too too big, it has around 40ish people with around 10 being considerably active) I've considered doing this for the longest time, and now I think that I am going to go through with calling the police about the issue, I don't have the photos of him posting the house or address in the chat but he he is still in the discord server, can they do anything without any genuine upfront evidence on my part?

Questions Answered:
Can the police take action without concrete evidence? The police can investigate the situation based on your report and any available information. While having concrete evidence such as screenshots would strengthen your case, the police can still take action based on your testimony and any other supporting details you provide.
Potential Strategies:
Document Everything: Write down a detailed account of what happened, including dates, times, and any witnesses who may have seen the doxxing incident. This documentation can help support your case.
Contact Discord: Reach out to Discord's support team and report the incident. They may have policies in place to address doxxing and can potentially take action against the individual who shared your personal information.
Seek Legal Advice: Consider consulting with a lawyer who specializes in privacy and harassment laws. They can provide guidance on your legal options and help you navigate the situation effectively.
Things to Discuss with a Lawyer:
Legal Recourse: A lawyer can advise you on the legal options available to you, such as filing a civil lawsuit for invasion of privacy or pursuing criminal charges for harassment.
Evidence Gathering: Discuss with a lawyer how to gather evidence to strengthen your case, such as obtaining chat logs or witness statements.
Discord's Policies: Understand Discord's terms of service and policies regarding doxxing, as a lawyer can help you navigate any potential actions against the individual within the platform.
Always consult with a lawyer.
